Is your Perfume not Long-Lasting? You could be making these mistakes.
GO FOR FRAGRANCES WITH THE STRONGEST CONCENTRATION:
We at AmeRu prefer making Eau de Parfum rather than Eau de Toilette. Eau de Parfum or Extrait Perfume are among those that last the longest.
MAKE SURE YOU MOISTURIZE:
Perfume disappears and irritates dry skin. Make sure you moisturize well; it will be better to use a well-hydrated body lotion like AmeRu Hydrating Body Crème in the same fragrance.
STORE YOUR PERFUME CORRECTLY:
Store your Perfume in a cool, dry, and dark place. Extreme sunlight, heat, or cold can disturb the delicate balance of oils within the fragrance.
It is best to store your favorite fragrance in a drawer or cupboard and not store it on a shelf in the bathroom where there might be direct light and moisture.
YOU EXPECT YOUR FRAGRANCE TO SMELL THE SAME THE WHOLE DAY?
Perfume has three levels:
- Top Notes
- Heart Notes
- Base Notes
When you spray your Perfume for the first time, you smell the top notes, which don’t last very long. Heart & Base notes have more extended longevity.
YOU SMELL IT TOO FAST:
When you first spray a fragrance, wait 30 seconds to settle, then smell so that the alcohol has time to evaporate.
YOU ARE STUCK IN YOUR WAYS:
Just because you don’t like specific fragrant notes doesn’t mean you will hate it in all perfumes.
Perfumes are very delicate and can contain up to two hundred ingredients, so don’t dismiss specific notes based on preconceived ideas as yet, be open-minded when trying new perfumes and fragrances.
NOT TRYING ANYTHING NEW:
Try new fragrances that express your style and personal taste rather than what you have been wearing for years.
RUBBING YOUR WRISTS TOGETHER:
Rubbing your wrists together causes the perfume notes to be disturbed; it can change the smell and fade quicker.
THINKING THAT YOUR FRIEND’S FRAGRANCE WILL SMELL THE SAME ON YOU:
Every person has different body chemistry; therefore, that is the final ingredient in any fragrance.
The only way to properly smell a scent is to test it yourself.
PERFUME DOES NOT COVER UP SMELLS:
You haven’t had a shower in a couple of days, and you think one or many sprays will save your day and bring you freshness and cleanliness.
Perfume doesn’t cover up lousy hygiene; you should have a shower before applying Perfume.
TAKING YOUR DEODORANT FOR PERFUME:
Deodorants can not do the same job as your favorite fragrance. The ingredients and formulas of these two products are very different, and the composition work behind them is even more so.
IT’S NOT A GOOD IDEA TO OVER-PERFUME:
If you feel that your Eau de Perfume does not smell anymore, it’s probably because your nose has gotten used to it.
Don’t think the more scent you put on, the better you will smell, or longer the fragrance will last.
THERE IS NOT RIGHT OR WRONG:
There are no right or wrong choices. When looking for your next fragrance, do not hesitate to see further than the end of your nose and find what works for your skin type.
