In 2019, AmeRu was founded by Amelia Enslin, a former model, mother, hairstylist, and makeup artist who transitioned into the field of accounting. As a South African business owner, I am a skilled and versatile entrepreneur with more than three decades of experience in the beauty industry and accounting.

My passion lies in everything related to Beauty, Fashion, and Fragrances. Whether admiring a chic makeup editorial, strutting down the runway for a couturier, or simply perusing stores like Coricraft and Volpes, I’m enamored by the scents surrounding me.
Beauty encompasses perfume, a realm that I have found to be challenging. For years, I have attempted to wear perfume, experimenting with various popular brands.
However, retail stores only offer a one-milliliter sample or spritz from the tester bottle for customers to test the fragrance, which ultimately led to disappointment as the scent vanished once I returned home from shopping. I couldn’t help but ponder if the tester fragrances are damaged due to inadequate storage in bright areas. Have any of you distinguished ladies and gentlemen encountered this issue?
As I was watching some commercials, I came across the latest scent, Dolce & Gabanna Light Blue, and it piqued my interest. At the time, being a single mother, I know the importance of prioritizing expenses. I’m sure many of you can relate to this.
After accumulating some savings, I purchased a small 30ml bottle of Dolce & Gabanna’s Light Blue perfume a few months later.
I applied the perfume before heading to work the following day, hoping to impress my best friend Linda, who has a keen sense of smell. She didn’t seem to notice despite passing by her a few times. However, after a while, she asked me why I was pacing back and forth.
“I said to her, ‘I’d like you to smell my new fragrance,’ to which she responded, ‘I’m sorry, but I can’t detect any scent.’ By that point, I had grown accustomed to being let down by the new perfumes I had purchased and experimented with.”
